Id be so insanely annoyed if i was Beksiński, beo just liked to paint certain subjects and of course he was influenced by his life events. But if he says there is no direct meaning, then i think we should honor that and take his word for it. He stated at the end of his career that he was sick of gallery’s and having others look at his art, he wanted to paint for himself and i think that speaks a lot about how he felt about the incessant need for other to put meaning where there is none Its like you saying „i think homless people should be treated better“ and someone responds „yeah i agree that we should kill them“ Its just endlessly frustrating

I respect everyone's opinion about it, but I honestly think The Exorcist is the most overrated, boring and soporific "Horror" movie of all time. The only thing scary about it, is that you're about to waste 2 hours of your life watching this god-awful movie. I apologize and have no intention of offending anyone who likes it, it's just how I feel about this movie. I know I can be quiet annoying when it comes to scary movies (whether it's old or new) and usually kill all the fun for whoever's watching them with me. But this one without a doubt is the one I hated the most, and I just can't keep myself from rolling my eyes whenever someone calls it "the scariest film ever".

Great video, but just one nitpick. I don't think that in the book Margaret White had a strict religious upbringing, and even her own parents thought she was a screwball. Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while.

Gotta love how management at almost any job says “as fast as YOU can” when in reality they mean “as fast as I think it should take” and not a second more. Smfh, managers are always so out of touch with how long things take in the real world and they rationalize it as people are just slow and lazy while in reality they’re probably quick and cautious and the only way to go any faster is to throw caution to the wayside, ugh.

I was sort of expecting a youtube about those movies that have negatively influenced viewers to do dangerous things. Does the Alec Baldwin incident fit into any of this? It seems to. This youtube reminds me of a certain scene in the movie The Day Of The Locust.

46:00 Ostriches kill with kicks. They have long claws that can-and do- rip flesh. Johnny Cash was almost killed the same way when one of his ostriches was brooding and attacked him with a kick as he approached her. She ripped open his belly all the way to the obligatory big country star belt buckle . . . which saved his life.

I usually love your work, but it feels like you’re missing a crucial point in this game which is it’s metafiction. Yes, the characters in the game are simple and one dimensional- yes Alan is a writers Gary Sue, yes it is HIGHLY derivative of other better works. But all of that is purposeful- the whole idea is that all of this, in universe, is the creation of two writers, Alan wake and Thomas Zane, both of whom are shown throughout to be mediocre and largely unoriginal copycats of better authors. The story is purposely made derivative in its surface text because it’s created by unoriginal hack paperback writers LARPing as Steven King and all of that is done to service a rich subtext about the creative process in general and the authors precise relationship to their own work. It really feels like you didn’t try to engage with most of the theme and nuance in the games subtext here and you took it all on its face. Part of this can be rationalized by not playing the two DLC missions, those are both necessary and serve to recontectualize a lot of the base game, and while I agree it’s shitty to truncate a story for profit, you shouldn’t just ignore them. That’s like someone judging bladerunner based on the theatrical cut and refusing to even watch the Final Cut version. You’re purposely making the story worse for yourself and not giving it a chance to actually win you over

I had to stop after reading the sexual assult scene. That’s never happened to me. I’ve read Berserk, I’ve seen other depictions of SA in other media- and I was able to continue (not without a struggle) but this one affected me more viscerally. I think it’s from the fact that so many of my female friends and partners- especially from Highschool- were assaulted in some way. When I found out that the assault was how he “cured” her from forum posts, it left a really bad taste in my mouth… it sucks too since the writing was really good…

That thumbnail is museum worthy. Can you imagine if a theme park like universal studios created a theme for halloween horror nights modeled after this movie? The Haunted house would be all kinds of like dead ends and like dead staircases, trap doors, etc....And then after you leave The Haunted house, there would be an actual Roller coaster just like the one in the movie... movie lovers would cheer all over the world and run to buy those tickets.

This was such a great production. Not only did you keep my interest. But the speed at which you explained each disaster was very well paced and everything came together so well at the end especially when you are naming all the people. I'm so unbelievably interested in things that go wrong during movie making and wait before you know UA-cam.There was a book called the The big book of celebrity murder and I bought it way back in like two thousand and three. It had a hundred page chapter on john landis alone and it was so good. John Landis is pretty much the Devil.

SUPERMAN famously is a character who knows his battle is never ending. Who thinks Batman of all people is under the delusion that he's ever going to win? Batman is a character who takes it one fight at a time, fully aware that one night he's going to die in a gutter doing the best he can.

I used to work as an illustrator as a side gig, and I only took commissions that had the same goal as this in mind. It usually meant working for the author themselves with their publisher's blessing. The only time I worked for a publisher longterm was for a magazine serial that featured short horror, sci-fi and fantasy stories, and they let the writers choose which staff artist they wanted and let them contact me directly. The magazine was as much about the art as it was about the stories. Due to my style (hyper realism of unrealistic subjects that made them look organic and natural), I always got the fun ones that wanted something VERY specific that had been built up in their imagination for awhile, and making that mental image come to life for them was a special delight for me.
